Dr. Barnes is a licensed optometrist and member of the Illinois Optometric Association, the West Suburban Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. After completing her undergraduate degree in Biology at North Central College in Naperville, IL she went to optometry school at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. As a student, Dr. Barnes was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She was also a recipient of the William Feinbloom Award for Low Vision Excellence, the Alcon Case Study Award, and the UMSL College of Optometry Student Ambassador Award. In addition to practicing primary care optometry, Dr. Barnes interests include ocular disease and complex refractive management. She has been practicing in the western suburbs since 2007.
In addition to practicing optometry, Dr. Barnes stays busy with her husband and 3 children and frequently volunteers at the Hesed House in Aurora.
